The owner of the collapsed 21-storey Gerrard Terraces building in Ikoyi become given the approval to assemble only 15 floors but he ended up constructing a 21-storey building.
The general manager, Lagos state building control corporation (LASBCA), Mr Gbolahan Oki, disclosed this to the information company of Nigeria (NAN).
Oki stated that the owner of the belongings has been arrested and would face the regulation because human beings have died in the disaster.
Oki stated: “He were given an popularity of a 15-storey constructing and he handed his restrict. I’m on floor here and the materials he used are so inferior and terrible.
“The materials he used, the reinforcement, are so horrible. He got acclaim for 15 floors however constructed 21.
“I suppose he has been locked down. He has been arrested earlier than now.”
At the least 50 humans are reportedly trapped under the rubble of the collapsed constructing.
