As suspected hoodlums hijack the peaceful #EndSARS protests, leading to loss of lives and destruction of properties across Nigeria, some cabinet members of the Buhar-led administration have aired their thoughts. Reacting to the shooting at the Lekki Tollgate in Lagos, the minister of state, labour and employment, Festus Keyamo, said he condemned “the use of live bullets generally to disperse UNARMED protesters”
The minister, however, urged the #EndSARS protesters to obey the curfew imposed in some states to avoid being dispersed by the security forces.
2. Whilst we await the full facts of what transpired at Lekki, I totally condemn the use of live bullets generally to disperse UNARMED protesters. I also urge the protesters to obey the authorities by observing the curfew imposed in some States so they don’t have to be dispersed
